EVOHAUST DPF inserts are made from silicon carbide (SiC). Unlike the commonly used cordierite, silicon carbide (SiC) is a universal material. Its properties make it suitable for both long motorway journeys and city driving.

What is a DPF diesel particulate filter?
The particulate filter is installed in the engine's exhaust system and is responsible for the most effective removal of suspended particles (PM10; PM2,5) from the engine's exhaust gases, with the least possible flow resistance.
The filter element is made of a ceramic material with high porosity.
The pores of the ceramic element are significantly smaller than soot particles. This allows for the trapping of particles inside the filter.
In the case of excessive soot accumulation in the filter, its burning (filter regeneration) may not be possible. If there are also mechanical damages to the filter, the only solution is its replacement.

Regeneration types
Passive regeneration
Soot is burned off automatically during longer highway driving.
Active regeneration
Automatically activated during driving by the controller, which increases the fuel dosage and raises the engine speed.
Forced regeneration
Carried out in a workshop, involving a computer-forced increase in exhaust gas temperature. Performed as a last resort.

The effectiveness of DPF regeneration varies and depends on, among other things, the degree of clogging and the method chosen. Regeneration of a diesel particulate filter is impossible in the case of mechanical damage. Purchasing an EVOHAUST diesel particulate filter is a reliable, safe solution ensuring long and trouble-free operation. EVOHAUST products are brand new and unused.
Driving style has an impact on the rate of DPF clogging. In the case of short trips and city driving (without longer motorway journeys), the automatic burning of soot is often ineffective.
DPF clogging manifests as unstable engine speed and loss of power, increased fuel consumption. Additionally, you may notice yellow warning lights and the engine entering limp mode.
